In May, 1977, Shawn died in an accident at the refinery in Meridian and the family’s lives were changed forever. Peggy and Jim moved to Duncan where Suzanne, Ginger, Shari, Shawn and Jamie were born. They later moved back to Hastings and Shane was born. In 1962, they moved to Meridian and Laurie and Dezire were born. Times were hard and never ending with 8 children but Peggy never complained. Jim was driving trucks and was gone a lot so the day to day taking care of those 8 Harper children fell to Peggy.

Jan gave therapy horse riding lessons to children with disabilities and wounded soldiers. She loved helping people and seeing the joy horses brought to other people. Bobby was born November 2, 1940 in Comanche, to Cliff and Mabel Bowles. He graduated from Comanche High School in 1959, and later graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Ag -Ed. He and Dorothy Vanzant were united in marriage on August 11, 1962 in Duncan.

She was born to Ray and Marjorie Lovelace on November 22nd, 1942 in Paragould, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, she proudly drove in the California powder puff derby, worked at Bank of America and later worked in the healthcare field where she retired in 2012. She adored her friends she made while working in Berryville, Arkansas and Manteca, California.

She is a beautiful soul, and was a wonderful mother to her sons; Quaid and Walter. A memorial service in Wynne will be planned by his sister. Ernie loved anything outdoors, especially fishing, floating on the river, and hunting. He spent all the time he could on the river with family and friends. Among his favorites were fishing trips with guys from work, and fishing trips with his kids and adopted sister Jennifer Norris.

On November 3, 1953 she and Royce Newton were united in marriage. Years later following his death she married Bill Rowell on December 3, 2000. Maydelene and Royce started their dairy business in 1958 south of Comanche , and in 1961 moved it west of town. The original dairy barn is still standing at Shane Ledford’s place. Maydelene would spend hours cleaning the glass milk bottles by hand and delivered milk to their customers, many times with the kids in the car.

Patsy Ruth Musson was born in Port Acres, Texas on April 15, 1937 to Robert Fergusson and Rena Savoie Fergusson. Pat passed peacefully from this life at home on December 12, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, First Baptist Church, 626 West Olive Street, Rogers, Arkansas, with Rev. C.J. Brummett officiating.

They raised a big garden, and she canned hundreds of jars of vegetables and fruit during that time. She continued her tradition of canning fruit and picking up pecans after she and Bill were married. Jack was born October 18, 1930 in Comanche, to Basil and Oliva Welch. He worked in the oilfield and also for Sunray Refinery. He later owned a country store, and raised and sold flowers and vegetables. He loved fishing, hunting, playing Bingo, and eating out.

She never turned down a bargain, and loved going garage selling, as well as goodwill shopping. She enjoyed the outdoors and never turned down a family vacation to the mountains, lake, or wherever it may be. June was born August 25, 1950 in Duncan, OK to James and Louise Doyal. She graduated from Comanche High School in 1968.
